Emtee’s musical ability was obvious from an early age. He participated in the Yeoville Primary School talent show when he was nine years old. It was his first appearance onstage.

At the age of 17, he became the youngest choir leader at Barnato Park High School and won several provincial contests as a member of his school’s Marimba band.

He collaborated with a South African rapper called Maraza on the song “In It To Win It” in 2010, when he was 18 years old.

He released his first single, “Roll Up,” in 2015, which was produced by Ruff. The song was a great success, topping DJ Speedsta’s hip hop chart on YFM.
